INDONESIA EMERGENCY OF CIGARETTES CHEAP
An increase in the number of adult smokers by 8.8 million in a decade (GATS 2021).
The prevalence of smokers of children aged < 18 years of age rose from 7.2% (2013) to 9.1% (2018) according to Riskesdas, and students aged 13 - 15 (SMP) by 19.2% according to GYTS 2019.
The mandate of the RPJMN 2020 - 2024 is to control consumption to reduce the prevalence of child smokers to 8.7% in 2024.
Cigarette spending continues to increase to 382,091 rupiah per month (GATS 2021) and cigarettes continue to be the second largest contributor to poverty in Indonesia (BPS 2021).
